I would like to take this opportunity to welcome each of you and your families to Southern Avenue Charter Elementary and Academy school. Some of you may be new to the school and I will like to take the opportunity to invite you to be apart of our PTO. You ask what is PTO? PTO stands for Parent-Teacher Organization, consisting of parents and teachers working together to support and enrich all students. We support school staff, help promote student self-esteem, and assist in efforts to solve school needs through volunteering and funding.
What is the PTO and who can be a Member?
The PTO is made up of several officers: co-presidents, co-vice presidents; Secretary, and not to mention our wonderful school staff and volunteers. So, who can be a member? If you’re a father, mother, protector, guardian, and/or a person who teaches or instructs at Southern Avenue Charter School. If you answered YES, then we would like you to become a member.
The mission of Southern Avenue Charter Elementary and Academy (SACS) PTO is to foster a sense of community at SACS by:
- Providing community building events and services for the students
- Promoting parental involvement
- Providing information and serving as liaison to parents and students
- Raising funds to facilitate the operation and enhancement of Southern Avenue Charter Elementary and Academy
We are so thankful to be a part of the Southern Avenue Charter Elementary and Academy family. Our PTO exists to support our school, encourage parent/guardian involvement, assist our teachers, and organize educational and community-building events. By working together, we can enhance and support the SACS experience for all students. Every parent/guardian of children at Southern Avenue Charter Elementary and Academy is considered a member of SACS PTO and we welcome your involvement. Membership dues are required to belong to SACS PTO, we need your financial support to accomplish our mission. Although Southern Avenue Charter Elementary and Academy is a Title 1 school, parental support is vital to meet the various needs of our students.
Every membership fee, fundraisers, and donations helps the PTO host fun family events and purchase valuable supplies and equipment for the school, students, and teachers. No contribution is too small or too large. Only one membership fee per family is required. We look forward to your cooperation this year. If at any time you have questions about the PTO, please do not hesitate to contact us. We welcome your suggestions and appreciate your enthusiasm along with your support!
Thank you in advance for your support and involvement!
